Owam' Unako Bottoman d.o.b 24 January 2013
BIRTH WEEKS : 29 weeks
B.WEIGHT : 590g - one of our smallest patients!
Owam was born at Groote Schuur Hospital at a very low birth weight, she stayed in hospital for 3 months after birth.
The name Owam ' Unako means My God is able and indeed he is able to change the impossible, it was very difficult as a mother to watch my child trying to survive inside and incubator. Sometimes at night I couldn't sleep thinking of my child that I've left in hospital I would cry, the next morning I would be in hospital as early as 9am just to see my child.
I thank God for my husband and family that have been so supportive right thru, and the care that she got from the nurses and doctors, its not easy at all but God bless them, there was a time the doctor told me that she needs blood transfusion immediately, my husband and I we were shocked and I was panicking and confused, so we asked the doctor can't you draw bloods from her parents ?
Then he said no that's gonna take time she needs blood as in now, my husband and I looked at each other we said ok....... immediately we said a prayer to God and we believed and everything went well, so parents should be strong and believe that everything has a reason and every child is a blessing and they should appreciate whatever that God gives them its for a good cause.
Unako is progressing very well and she's a very loud little girl! She's so lovable to many people, I just love the way she smiles, and she's very strong. She is growing very well.
